Tyre and Wheel Modifications often require approval and registration Any deviation from the vehicle’s original tyre and wheel specification may require technical approval and registration to maintain the vehicle’s legal compliance and insurance coverage. Inspection organizations such as TÜV, GTÜ, KÜS, and DEKRA can assess alternative tyre and wheel combinations for most vehicles. Once approved, the relevant changes can be entered into the vehicle registration documents. A DUNLOP Tyre Approval confirms that the requested tyres can be operated safely under the specified conditions (e.g., inflation pressure, axle load, maximum speed, wheel dimensions, and camber angle). However, this approval does not assess compatibility with electronic control systems such as ABS, ASR, ESP, or EBD, nor does it cover a legal compatibility on vehicles with all-wheel drive or four-wheel steering. We are also unable to evaluate wheel clearance, handling characteristics, or whether a speedometer adjustment may be required. Therefore, we strongly recommend having the proposed tyre and wheel combination reviewed and approved by the vehicle manufacturer, a certified vehicle-inspector (e.g., TÜV, GTÜ, KÜS, or DEKRA), a specialized tuning company, or a qualified automotive expert. Please complete the form as accurately as possible and submit it to the Technical Service Department of Dunlop Tyre Europe GmbH. All required vehicle information can be found in the Vehicle Registration Certificate (Part I) or the vehicle’s COC (Certificate of Conformity) documents.
