DUNLOP Motorsport Achieves Strong Top-5 Finish in the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series

DUNLOP Motorsport followed up on its first overall victory at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife nearly three months ago with another strong result: Nico Menzel and DUNLOP newcomer Flynt Schuring finished fifth overall in the 65th ADAC Reinoldus Endurance Race, the eighth round of the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). At the wheel of the black-and-yellow Porsche 911 GT3 R with start number 17, the duo drove a flawless race without any major problems or incidents.

Only Saturday morning’s qualifying session did not go as hoped: Although the DUNLOP duo finished eighth in their black-and-yellow Porsche placing them within the top 10, Nico Menzel collided with a slower car while chasing a fast lap time. The incident, which was unintentional and more of an unfortunate misunderstanding in traffic, did not go unpunished, however: The DUNLOP Porsche was set back three positions and therefore had to start the race from eleventh on the grid.

Starting driver Menzel made up for his mistake shortly after the start, though, as he was able to move up to eighth place within the first few meters. By the start of the second lap, the Nordschleife specialist was already in sixth place before handing the wheel over to teammate Flynt Schuring during the first pit stop. The Dutchman had been crowned this year’s Porsche Supercup champion last weekend at the Formula 1 race in Monza and was now making his debut in the DUNLOP Porsche.

As the race progressed, the DUNLOP Porsche remained within striking distance of the leading group: Menzel and Schuring engaged in thrilling battles for position with the competition and at one point even moved up to third place overall. With the podium within reach, unfortunate yellow flag periods and a different strategy set the duo back slightly. After another stint by Menzel, Schuring took the wheel for the final phase. The Dutch driver gave it his all and made a statement in the final meters: With a passing move just before the checkered flag, the DUNLOP Porsche secured another position and crossed the finish line in a strong fifth place overall.

The race day was less fortunate for the #632 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992.1) from BLACK FALCON Team FANATEC. Veteran driver Manuel Metzger, YouTuber Misha Charoudin, and the two Gran Turismo sim racers and content creators Steve Brown and Jimmy Broadbent dominated the action in the AT2 class for long stretches. The quartet confidently led their class and were also within striking distance of the top 20 in the overall standings. Shortly before the end, however, their strong performance came to a premature end: closing driver Charoudin was forced to retire the DUNLOP shod Porsche.

DUNLOP Motorsport will be back in action as early as Sunday: Just 24 hours after the eighth round of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series, the next challenge awaits with the 66th ADAC ACAS Cup on September 13, 2026—the ninth race of the year. The race will be the second part of this year’s doubleheader and will cover the usual four-hour distance. As usual, the race will start at 12:00 pm.
