DUNLOP Motorsport has secured its first overall victory on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife: Nico Menzel and Sven Müller triumphed at the 1st ADAC Eifel Trophy, the sixth round of the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). Despite numerous incidents and sweltering summer temperatures that took their toll on both drivers and equipment, the duo brought the black-and-yellow No. 17 Porsche 911 GT3 R across the finish line in first place, marking a significant milestone for DUNLOP Motorsport.

Nico Menzel and Sven Müller had already demonstrated their strong form during qualifying on Saturday morning. With a lap time of just under eight minutes, the DUNLOP duo qualified for eighth on the grid. An even better result was within reach: On his final fast lap, Nico Menzel was on course for the fastest time before a yellow flag period on the Nordschleife thwarted his decisive attempt.

Menzel took the lead at the start of the four-hour race and steadily worked his way through the leading pack with some impressive passing moves. The team laid the groundwork for their eventual success with a clever strategy: an earlier pit stop than the competition gave the DUNLOP Porsche a clear track and allowed it to fully exploit the potential of the DUNLOP slick tires. With consistently fast lap times, the car moved up to the front of the field.

Even before the race reached the halfway point, Sven Müller took the lead for the first time and subsequently pulled decisively away from the chasing pack. Although the final pit stop required a longer stop time due to the advantage gained earlier, the Porsche still returned to the track in the lead. In a thrilling final phase, the lead did shrink significantly once again, but Sven Müller defended the top position all the way to the finish line, securing DUNLOP Motorsport’s maiden victory on the Nordschleife by a margin of just 0.319 seconds.

Following its historic first victory, DUNLOP Motorsport is already looking ahead to its next race: The 65th ADAC Reinoldus Endurance Race, scheduled for September 12, 2026, is next on the calendar.
